Are You Ready for Autumn? We are!

Tucson Round Two… Week Two

Hey there!

This past weekend Steve and I spent some time in Willcox AZ.  We went to Apple Annie’s Orchard and picked some fresh peaches off the trees.   We scored some delicious fresh apple cider there as well.  It was a lovely day to be out in the trees.  There are apple, pears, and peaches you can pick.  We went to lunch at a yummy Mexican restaurant in Willcox and then headed out to our hike.

Chiricahua National Monument

We hiked at the Chiricahua National Monument.  There are quite a few hikes there to choose from.  After talking to a very helpful AZ Conservation Corps guy we landed on Echo Canyon.  It did not disappoint!

The rock formations were made from lava and look like hundreds and hundreds of towers.  This particular hike drops you down into those formations, some of which you can walk inside of.

We hiked as far as Echo Park, which like the name suggests you can hear your echo from.  Truly amazing terrain and Steve and I hope to get back there again sometime.

Excitement, But Then Disappointment…

Sunday we attended to some things around the Airstream, got groceries, and checked out the pool here.  There is a pool and a hot tub and we took a dip in both.  This week we’ve had walks most mornings and evenings.  Steve has gone to the little fitness room here and done some more intensive workouts as well.

We had a bit of excitement this week as an offer came in on our house.  We signed the paper work, but then disappointment came as the individuals financing wasn’t enough to cover the costs.

So we are still on the market and if you think of us, please pray for the right person to come along.  We are also looking for a small property for us to maintain an address in AZ, so prayers for that are appreciated as well.

Work and Weather

Steve’s job is going well and he is busy seeing patients and bringing his expertise and calm demeanor to them Mon-Fri.  I have been working on a few writing projects during the days when he’s not home.

The weather here has been upper 80’s/low 90’s.  It is MUCH more bearable than it was over the summer months.

Really Quite Lovely

The place we are staying is surrounded by trust lands and really quite lovely.

We enjoy hiking on the trails around the RV Park.  One evening we could hear a group of coyote’s calling to each other.  They seemed pretty close, so that was disturbing to me…but we never actually saw them.  We’ve seen lots of rabbits too.  I have been told there are quite a few rattlesnakes around, but we haven’t noticed any yet.

The sunsets here have been absolutely AMAZING!  Such lovely colors and the sky looks like it is ablaze.  I think because we can see for miles and miles in every direction the sunsets are just that much more spectacular.

Feels Like Home

The Airstream is doing quite well for us and the more we live in it the more it feels like home to us.

All the systems have been in working order and I think we are finally finished with reorganizing all our stuff! For a while there it seemed like every week we were reorganizing or rearranging cupboards and cabinets.  Steve is really good at stacking cans and boxes in small places kinda like a Jenga Puzzle.

I hope everyone is doing well and know that we miss seeing you all!
