Nearing the Finish Line

Tucson Round Two… Week Nine

Hey there friends!

Hard to believe that Steve’s contract here is so close to an end. We have this week and next week is the final one. It’s really gone by fast for us this time around.

We are looking forward to spending time with our children over the Holidays and (hopefully) getting to move our stuff to our tiny home in Willcox, AZ.

We had the home inspection this past weekend and all went good. The home inspector didn’t realize the house was not completed, but he walked us through the things left to do and assured us that the home has been completed with good craftsmanship thus far.

The neat surprise in it for us was that the owners were present!

We pulled up for the inspection and there was an RV parked in the yard with folks working on cleaning out stuff from the shed. We met the owners and had a good connection with them and felt really blessed to get to ask them direct questions about the building process and such.

We are waiting for the formal report from the inspector and a water quality test on the well. After those we should be about ready to close. Our realtor said it could happen as quickly as the weekend after Thanksgiving if all comes together. That would be perfect timing for us as Steve is finished with his contract that weekend.

We will be in Tucson until at least Monday though, he is taking his ACE test for health coaching on Monday the 28th.

It would be really nice to go from this campground to our own spot.

Our plan is to be there for December and get as much accomplished on the home as possible to get it ready for final inspections.

Then in January we will head out for another 3 month contract…location to be determined! We will let you know!

Another fun thing we did this past weekend is a hike along Cienega Creek. We had hiked there once before, but we did a different hike this time. The colors of fall were in full display there!

We saw lots of shades of yellow on the trees and with the Saguaro Cacti in the mix it was just lovely. The creek was flowing pretty good too, so the sound of water was soothing. We enjoyed wandering around exploring.

We saw a train go overhead on a bridge and the conductor leaned out his window to wave at me! That was pretty cool.

  1. Wow, time has gone by fast. Love, your “Little house”. Hope all goes well, as you work to pass the last inspection.

Have wonderful Christ with your family as that time comes around.
