Chinese, Pumpkins, Writing, Marathon…

Tucson Round Two… Week Four

Hey there!

I hope everyone is enjoying this fall season. Although we aren’t around any changing leaves there are a lot of pumpkins at the stores. Several of the folks at our campground have fall decoration at their campsites as well.

This past weekend Steve and I enjoyed another hike around the Trust Lands our campground is located in. We had a great time hiking and made it back to Airy just before the clouds let out a nice rain.

It was almost lunch time so we headed out for some Chinese at a local restaurant that was very tasty.

After lunch we hit the grocery store and then headed back home. We worked on small projects around the RV for the remainder of the day.

Sunday brought us back to Prescott Valley to check on the roof situation at our home.

We were only there for about an hour and Steve crawled up into the eaves to check out the damage done by a storm that had rolled through earlier in the week. We have an adjuster from our insurance company coming out on the 17th to assess.

Our son Ben had planted some tomato and jalapeño plants earlier this summer and we reaped a harvest of tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, and peppers while we were there. Steve roasted them and made a wonderful tomato soup for dinner on Monday.

Prescott Valley is a 3+ hour drive one way, so we spent pretty much the whole day Sunday in the car.

When we got back we chatted with our son Jeremiah who had completed a Marathon in Boulder Co. It was good to hear about his experience and celebrate such an accomplishment with him!

I am taking an online writing course through Coursera, so my days this week were filled with lectures and assignments. I am really enjoying learning about this craft and hope that I will improve as a result.

Some updates on our house. The buyer still wants to continue (even with the leakage from the storm). We got a list of requests from the buyer and have completed all of them but one. We are waiting on a roofer and the insurance adjusters take before proceeding with any roof improvements.

Hopefully by this time next week the transaction will be pending.

Steve and I are going to try and do something fun this weekend. Maybe camping?

We will keep you posted.
Blessings!
